Man Fatally Stabbed in South Minneapolis, Suspect Arrested Nearby
A man died after being stabbed inside a South Minneapolis residence late Sunday afternoon, and another man was arrested nearby a short time later.
Minneapolis police say officers were dispatched just after 5:00 p.m. to the 4900 block of Hiawatha Avenue for a reported stabbing.

When they arrived, officers found a man suffering from life-threatening stab wounds. He was taken by EMS to Hennepin Healthcare, where he died.
Initial info indicates two men got into a verbal argument inside the home before the altercation turned violent. The suspect fled before officers arrived, prompting police to establish a perimeter and search the surrounding area. Officers located the second man a short time later in the 5300 block of 46th Avenue South and took him into custody without incident.

Minneapolis forensic staff processed the scene, and investigators continue working to determine the sequence of events that led to the stabbing.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the victim’s name and cause of death in the coming days.
