Minneapolis Woman Charged After Cocaine Seized in Raid

A woman is charged after investigators say officers found more than 50 grams of cocaine during a search warrant at a Minneapolis home.

Authorities say the search was part of a larger narcotics investigation involving members and associates of the Family Mob gang.

The search took place Feb. 25 at a residence on the 3200 block of 4th Street North during a coordinated operation tied to the investigation.

Prosecutors charged Marquita Lynn Williams, 42, of Minneapolis, with first-degree drug possession after investigators say she was found with more than 65 grams of cocaine during the search.

According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement executed multiple search warrants as part of the large-scale narcotics investigation. Officers entered the residence where Williams was present along with two other adults.

During the search, investigators located three firearms inside the home along with additional ammunition. Authorities also recovered two bags of cocaine from Williams’ person. One bag weighed 27.2 grams and the other weighed 38.4 grams, for a combined total of about 65.6 grams.

Court records show she has a prior felony conviction for a fifth-degree drug offense in Hennepin County.

Williams was charged by warrant and is not currently in custody. Bail in the case was set at $200,000. If convicted of first-degree drug possession, Williams faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison.
