Man Dies After Late-Night Shooting in Burnsville

A man died after a late-night shooting in a townhome complex parking lot in Burnsville, according to police.

Officers were called around 10:40 p.m. Jan. 25 to a report of a shooting in a parking lot near the Andrews Pointe Townhomes along East 117th Street.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds in the lot.

Police began lifesaving measures at the scene while paramedics responded. The man was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators secured the area as they began processing the scene and gathering information. Police have not released details about what led up to the shooting, whether any suspects were identified or whether a weapon was recovered.

Authorities also have not said if the shooting stemmed from an argument or if the people involved may have known one another.

As of publication, police have not released the victim’s identity and said the investigation remains active. Officials said there is no known threat to the public and that additional information will be released when appropriate.
