CHARGES: Argument Over Food Led to Stabbing in Minneapolis
A Minneapolis woman is facing a felony charge after police say she stabbed a longtime friend during a fight earlier this summer.
According to a criminal complaint, 52-year-old Tiffany Lee Brewer has been charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon causing substantial bodily harm.

The charge stems from an incident on June 28 when officers responded to the intersection of Penn Avenue North and Lowry Avenue North on a report of a stabbing.
Police arrived to find a woman on the ground with a stab wound to her left breast. A bystander was holding pressure on the wound before paramedics brought her to North Memorial Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition.
Investigators later spoke with the victim, who said she had known Brewer—who she referred to as “Yummy”—for about four years. The victim told officers the two got into an argument after Brewer wanted some of her food, which had been brought home from a carnival. When the victim refused, Brewer allegedly threatened her and the fight escalated into the alley. The victim said Brewer pulled out a red and black folding knife and stabbed her as she tried to defend herself.

Police say a family member of the victim identified Brewer by her nickname and the victim later picked her out of a photo lineup. Investigators also received video footage showing Brewer holding a knife in the area near where the stabbing happened.
Brewer, whose address is listed in north Minneapolis, is not in custody. An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday, ordering that she be held on $50,000 bail if apprehended. She is also barred from having any contact with the victim.
If convicted, Brewer faces up to 10 years in prison and fines ranging from $6,000 to $20,000.
