Burnsville Shooting Leaves 14-Year-Old Boy Dead

A 14-year-old boy died after a shooting late Monday night at a Burnsville apartment complex, police confirm.

The shooting was first reported around 10:30 p.m. at the Glen at Burnsville apartments in the 13000 block of Harriet Avenue South.

Police say officers and paramedics arrived and found the boy in the building’s lobby, suffering from gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were performed before he was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries, a Burnsville Police Department spokesperson said Tuesday morning.

Investigators have not released the victim’s identity.

Officials say initial information indicates the shooting wasn’t random and there’s no indication of an ongoing threat to the public. Police have not released details about what led up to the shooting and haven’t announced any arrests or suspect information.

The investigation remains active and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
