Belgrade Shooting Sends Man to Hospital, Suspect Arrested

Investigators say one person is in custody after a shooting in Belgrade Saturday afternoon.
The shooting was reported just after 12 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of School Street and left one man hospitalized.

Officers from the Belgrade/Brooten Police Department and Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
In a press release, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said an adult male victim was transported to a hospital. The victim’s condition has not been released. Officials confirmed one person was taken into custody at the scene.

Officials said the victim and suspect were known to each other and there is no danger to the public. Law enforcement is expected to remain in the area for several hours while investigators continue processing the scene, and the public is being asked to avoid the area.
No additional information has been released, and authorities say more details are expected later.
