4 People Shot in Minneapolis After Dispute Escalates to Gunfire

Four people were injured Saturday evening in north Minneapolis after a dispute between several people escalated to gunfire.

The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. near the 3000 block of Russell Avenue North, MPD says.

A Minneapolis Police Department spokesperson said officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and reports of shots fired in the area and found evidence of gunfire at the scene.

About 10 minutes after the initial call, a man and a woman arrived at North Memorial Healthcare with gunshot wounds. Both injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Around eight minutes later, two more men showed up at Hennepin Healthcare, also with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police said preliminary information indicates a dispute between several people led to the shooting. Investigators are working to determine the sequence of events and identify who was involved. No arrests have been made.
