Police say a man found on the couch of a Duluth home early on October 27 was seen leaving with several bags and a resident reported hours later that a laptop and other belongings had been stolen.
Brian Christopher Fairbanks, 43, is charged in Saint Louis County District Court with first-degree burglary of an occupied dwelling and theft.
According to the complaint, Duluth police were called to the home at about 1:35 a.m. after a report that an unknown man was inside. Officers saw Fairbanks leaving the house carrying several bags. A resident told police he had gone to the bathroom and found Fairbanks lying on the couch. No one at the home knew him, so they asked him to leave.
