Officers arrived and spoke with the victim, who said he had been sitting in the front passenger seat of a friend’s Honda SUV while two others went inside an apartment building. The victim told police that while he was looking through a purse for a key fob, the friend returned, became angry, pulled out a black Glock handgun and held it to the back of the victim’s head.

The victim reported that the friend repeatedly threatened to kill him and struck him in the back of the head with the gun. The victim said the friend and another person then got into the vehicle and drove away, running over his leg as they left.

Police obtained surveillance footage from the apartment complex showing an older Honda SUV arriving and parking at about 12:27 a.m. The video showed the victim exiting the front passenger seat and approaching a woman outside the vehicle. The driver, described as a white male in his 20s, exited the SUV holding what appeared to be a black handgun with a green laser, racked the slide and pointed the gun directly at the victim’s face.

Investigators received a tip identifying the suspect with the gun as “Anthony” who went by “Antwon.” Detectives reviewed social media accounts and found one with photos matching the suspect seen in the surveillance footage. The account listed a birthdate matching Anthony Christopher Stensgaard.

Detectives compared photos from the social media account and law enforcement databases to the surveillance video and identified Stensgaard as the person who held the gun to the victim’s head.
