A Minneapolis man was found with multiple firearms and large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine after officers executed a search warrant at his residence, according to charges.

Garey Lavell Howze, 27, faces four felony charges: three counts of first-degree drug crimes for possessing and selling fentanyl and cocaine and one count of possessing a firearm as a person previously convicted of a crime of violence.

According to the complaint, law enforcement began investigating reports of fentanyl and cocaine trafficking out of a residence in Minneapolis in the spring of 2026. Officers learned that the suspect drove a black Chevrolet Suburban and a black BMW X5 registered to Howze.

Through surveillance and further investigation, officers identified Howze as the person allegedly trafficking fentanyl and cocaine from the residence. On September 9, 2026, officers executed a search warrant at the address.

Officers detained Howze as he exited the residence. The complaint states that Howze repeatedly refused officers’ directives and resisted attempts to be placed in handcuffs.

During the search, officers found several firearms and a large amount of suspected drugs. The complaint details the recovery of multiple firearms, as well as a powdery substance in a closet that field tested positive for fentanyl and cocaine. Officers also found additional quantities of fentanyl. The charges were filed Friday, September 11.
