A police spokesperson said by around 9:45 p.m. Monday that officers had taken someone into custody, described as a “person of interest.” The department’s earlier release said no arrests had been made, and it was not immediately clear how the person taken into custody may be connected to the shooting.

Homicide investigators are working to determine what led to the shooting and the department’s forensic services and video management units are processing the scene for evidence.
Police asked anyone with information to call 651-266-5650.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the three people who were killed and determine exactly how they died. Their names have not been released as of publication.
The deaths are the ninth, 10th and 11th homicides of 2026 in Saint Paul.
