A man was injured after being thrown from a moving vehicle during an altercation with the driver in Big Lake.

The incident occurred near the intersection of County Road 73 and Manitou Street, prompting a 911 call from a witness who reported seeing a man hanging out of the window before falling out.

Brady Arin Cramer, 55, of Big Lake, faces charges including 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, criminal vehicular operation resulting in bodily harm due to gross negligence, failing to stop after a traffic collision that caused injury and misdemeanor domestic assault for intentionally inflicting or attempting to inflict bodily harm.

According to the complaint, the victim reported that he and Cramer had an argument while Cramer was driving. The victim stated that Cramer pulled over, hit him several times and then kicked him out of the vehicle. Witnesses corroborated the victim’s account, with one observing the two men fighting and another seeing the victim being dragged alongside the vehicle after he attempted to grab onto it.

A Big Lake police officer responded to the scene and found the victim walking down the street with visible injuries, including blood on his face and torn clothing. Paramedics evaluated the victim and transported him to a hospital for treatment of injuries to his head, face, arms, hands, knees, legs and feet. Cramer, when contacted by police, claimed that the victim had attacked him and that he had to disarm him before throwing him out of the vehicle.

Cramer is currently in custody. A court date has not yet been set. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of up to seven years in prison for the 2nd-degree assault charge.
