Two motorcyclists died Saturday afternoon in a crash involving a truck at an intersection southwest of Rochester, the sheriff’s office says.

Olmsted County deputies were called around 3:45 p.m. on May 30 to a report of a crash with injuries at the intersection of Salem Road Southwest and 60th Avenue Southwest in Rochester Township, according to a sheriff’s office spokesperson.

Initial information indicated a motorcycle and a truck had collided at the intersection and that the motorcyclists were seriously hurt.

Two people were riding the motorcycle, a 63-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman. Authorities say a 25-year-old man was driving the truck and the sheriff’s office did not immediately release if the truck driver was injured.

Mayo Clinic Ambulance attempted life-saving efforts on both motorcycle riders, who were later pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not yet been released and investigators haven’t said what may have led to the collision.
