A 20-year-old woman is facing multiple serious charges after a shooting incident in Minneapolis left one man injured.
The incident occurred on May 16, 2026, near 33rd Street East and Park Avenue South, where police responded to reports of gunfire.
Angela Arroyo Hernandez, 20, of Minneapolis, faces charges including attempted 2nd-degree murder with intent but not premeditated, dangerous weapons for a drive-by shooting toward a person, possession of a machine gun and criminal vehicular operation resulting in bodily harm due to gross negligence.
According to the complaint, Minneapolis police were on routine patrol when they heard gunshots and received a report of a shooting nearby. Officers found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest, who was transported to the hospital for medical aid. Witnesses described seeing Hernandez and several male suspects near the scene, with one witness stating that they heard threats before the shooting occurred. Surveillance footage captured a black Infiniti sedan, which Hernandez was driving and showed her filming the group of suspects as they brandished firearms.
The footage revealed that shortly before the shooting, Hernandez was seen interacting with the suspects and was even given firearms to pose for photos. After the shooting, she drove the suspects away from the scene but later crashed into a police squad car while attempting to flee. Officers recovered a loaded Glock pistol and other evidence from the vehicle, linking Hernandez to the incident.
Hernandez is currently in custody pending charges from this incident. A court date has not yet been set.
