A 20-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after a shooting incident in Minneapolis left one man injured.

On May 16, 2026, Minneapolis police were on routine patrol near E. 33rd Street and Park Avenue South when they heard gunshots nearby, prompting them to respond to a report of a shooting at 3250 5th Avenue South.

Angela Arroyo Hernandez, of Minneapolis, faces charges including 2nd-degree murder, drive-by shooting, possession of a machine gun and criminal vehicular operation. The complaint says officers found one male victim, with at least two gunshot wounds to his chest, who was then transported to the hospital.

Witnesses in a nearby garage said they saw a suspect armed with a handgun and one witness described hearing verbal threats and gunshots shortly after seeing the suspects. Surveillance footage captured a black Infiniti sedan, which Hernandez was driving, arriving at the scene shortly before the shooting.

The video showed several males exiting the vehicle, some armed with handguns, while Hernandez filmed the group with her cell phone. After the shooting, the group fled to the Infiniti, which Hernandez then drove away from the scene.

Officers later attempted to stop the Infiniti, but Hernandez fled, crashing into a marked squad car just four blocks away from the shooting. Investigators recovered a loaded Glock pistol with an auto-sear, two discharged cartridge casings and other items from the vehicle, including documents belonging to Hernandez.

Historical location data from her phone indicated it was at the scene of the shooting when it occurred.

Hernandez is currently in custody at the Hennepin County Jail, with bail set at $1 million. Her initial court date is scheduled for June 1.
