MPD officers initially responded to reports of a man slumped over in a vehicle, according to the court documents.

They found Tucker in the driver’s seat, appearing to be asleep. When officers knocked on the window, he woke up and officers noticed a firearm in plain view inside the center console of the vehicle.

After instructing him to exit the vehicle, a second firearm fell from Tucker’s waistband onto the ground, the documents say. Officers then placed Tucker in handcuffs and conducted a search, discovering a large quantity of suspected narcotics in his pockets.

The seized drugs included more than three ounces of suspected fentanyl, divided into four baggies and a small amount of methamphetamine in another baggie. Tucker spontaneously claimed the narcotics were cocaine, the documents say.dd

After the search, officers found a third gun resting on the driver’s seat. They recovered all three firearms for processing.

Tucker has a criminal history that includes prior felony convictions for narcotics, robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Tucker was arrested and booked into jail later that morning and he’s still detained as of publication on $200,000 bond. Beyond the state charges, Tucker is also being held on a federal detainer from the U.S. Marshals Service, so he would remain jailed for federal authorities even if he posts bail.

His next state court appearance is set for June 25.
