Two women were shot in a Rochester parking lot on Sunday night and a suspect was arrested after a police pursuit early Monday morning, police say.

Rochester police officers were dispatched to 2280 Superior Drive Northwest around 10:45 p.m. on May 24 on a report of a shooting in the parking lot, the Rochester Police Department said.

A man allegedly shot and injured two women. The victims had non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital by acquaintances.

About four hours later, officers attempted a traffic stop in northeast Rochester on a vehicle reportedly associated with the shooting suspect. The driver did not stop and a pursuit ensued, RPD said in a media release.

Officers used a pursuit intervention technique maneuver to safely stop the vehicle in the area of Fairway Drive Northwest and 55th Street Northwest.

Three occupants, including the suspected shooter, were taken into custody without further incident and investigation is ongoing.

The suspect had not been formally identified or formally charged as of publication.
