Two Columbia Heights residents are in jail on probable cause for second-degree murder in connection with a drive-by shooting that left a woman shot in the neck in Fridley over the weekend.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests Tuesday, May 12.

Cordaryle Frank-Allen Frost, 38, and Cynthia Victoria Frost, 37, were taken into custody May 11. Both have been booked on probable cause for second-degree murder, drive-by shooting toward a person and first-degree assault causing great bodily harm.

PREVIOUSLY: Woman Shot While Driving in Fridley, Suspect Sought

The shooting happened just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, in the northbound lanes of University Ave. NE, south of 53rd Ave. N. Officers found a woman who had been shot in the neck while driving an SUV. She left the roadway and came to a stop near the on-ramp to eastbound Interstate 694.

A teenage girl who was also in the SUV was not injured.

Paramedics transported the woman to a hospital in critical but stable condition. Authorities confirmed Tuesday afternoon that the woman was still hospitalized.

No bail amounts have been set for the suspects and formal charges from the Anoka County Attorney’s Office are pending.

Witnesses told officers the suspect was in a black SUV that continued northbound after the shooting. Traffic was blocked from 53rd to 57th Ave. N. while a K9 team searched the area for shell casings and other evidence.

The Fridley Police Department, Columbia Heights Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Allina EMS responded to the scene. The Fridley Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating.
