A 27-year-old Minneapolis man is facing two felony charges after investigators say he sent a bomb threat to the Little Earth housing community and made repeated threats to kill residents and burn down their homes.

Jacob Joseph Lennander was charged in Hennepin County District Court with two counts of threats of violence.

According to the criminal complaint, staff at Little Earth received a message on the community’s Instagram account on the evening of Thursday, Jan. 29, that read, “Tell (name) that because of her nephews chasing down pregnant black women we’re going to have bomb little earth. Or you can kill her and spare your people.”

The message came from an account called “hogendass.”

Officers were dispatched to Little Earth, on the 2500 block of Cedar Avenue South, shortly after and gathered records from Meta and Verizon that linked the account to Lennander.

The complaint says Lennander was also a suspect in an assault at Little Earth on Nov. 14, 2024, in which the female victim was kicked in the leg and hit on the head.

Another Little Earth resident received threatening messages from a separate Instagram account called “Missingxmurderedmaker” on Oct. 5, 2025. The messages threatened to kill the resident’s baby, burn down a specific unit and burn down another person’s house. Investigators confirmed through Meta records that the account also belonged to Lennander.

The complaint says Lennander also posted on that account about murdering protesters, politicians, judges and children of judges.

Lennander is known to be armed and exchanged gunfire with an unknown person at Little Earth on Aug. 7, 2024, the complaint says.

When officers arrived at Lennander’s home to arrest him, they found a loaded 9mm Glock handgun in a holster on the floor, tucked inside a black jacket. The gun had a round in the chamber and a second loaded magazine was found in the jacket pocket.

Lennander previously had a permit to carry, but it expired in December 2025.

Booking records show Lennander was first arrested by Minneapolis police on March 27 on probable cause but was released three days later after the 36-hour hold expired without charges being filed. He was arrested again on April 23 after a formal complaint was filed and a warrant was issued.

Lennander made his first court appearance on April 24, when a judge set bail at $150,000 with no conditions or $75,000 with conditions that include no contact with victims, staying away from the victim’s residence, geographic restrictions and no possession of firearms or ammunition.

Court records show Lennander posted $75,000 bail and was released from jail. His next court date is an omnibus hearing scheduled for May 22.

Each count carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
