Authorities are investigating after a small plane crashed at Scenic Heights Park in Shakopee early Friday afternoon, leaving two occupants injured.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at 1195 Ruby Lane around noon.
Shakopee police and fire crews arrived to find a Piper PA-44-180 Seminole, a twin-engine fixed-wing aircraft, heavily damaged in the park. Firefighters worked quickly to extricate both occupants from the wreckage. The victims, who have not yet been identified, were transported to a hospital with potentially serious injuries by around 12:20 p.m. There were no injuries to anyone on the ground.
