Prosecutors allege 31-year-old Deontae Creshaun Allen Coney committed second-degree assault involving a dangerous weapon in connection with the Nov. 14, 2025 shooting inside Benihana, 11840 Fountains Way.

Steven Fredrick Endsley is charged in Hennepin County with second-degree murder with intent, not premeditated, in connection with the death of a man he lived with inside a trailer.

The murder was allegedly committed as part of a past pattern of domestic abuse. A conviction on either count requires life in prison, and a premeditated murder conviction would remove the possibility of parole.

The first shooting was reported around 9:26 p.m. Wednesday on the 2900 block of Emerson Avenue North after ShotSpotter alerts and 911 callers reported gunfire.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on the 3000 block of 5th Avenue South, after officers were dispatched to the area on the report of an armed person.

A summons was filed for 21-year-old John Dean McClain following a months-long review of CyberTips and device data, according to a Hennepin County complaint filed last week.

Officers were sent Saturday, Dec. 6 to 1300 Shingle Creek Crossing and learned while they were on the way that the suspect was still on scene.

Officers were told that one person had been struck in the head and hands with a machete and that a second person had been threatened during the same incident. The first victim told officers he had been hit five times.

Commands were given for Rocha to exit, but officers reported that he stayed inside and moved around the front seat. One of the officers saw what appeared to be a large assault-style rifle and alerted the others.

Weinhagen also stole reward funds meant to help solve the killings of children and used Chamber resources for personal travel and a bank loan application.

When the suspect didn’t stop, they used a PIT maneuver to bring the vehicle to a halt. Police say the driver ignored repeated orders to get out of the car.
