Law enforcement has vowed to use every available resource to stop the cycle of shootings that officials say may be connected, gang-related and possibly retaliatory.

Three people were killed and two others wounded in a shooting late Tuesday night in south Minneapolis that police say was likely a targeted attack.

When they arrived, officers found a 25-year-old woman unresponsive inside a sedan. She was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where she later died.

Minneapolis Fire and Hennepin EMS initially responded for a report of a person down in the roadway. After finding that the man had been shot, first responders requested assistance from Minneapolis Police.

According to initial info from the State Patrol, the driver of a 2005 Ford Mustang was westbound on Highway 55 near Revere Lane around 5:37 a.m. when he struck the male, who was on foot.

According to the Hennepin County Jail roster, Peterson was booked on a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree DWI after being stopped by a State Trooper in Richfield.

Officers from the 1st Precinct were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 18, after reports of a shooting near 3rd Avenue South and 9th Street South.

A drain worker was rescued early Wednesday morning after being trapped for at least five hours in a partially collapsed trench near a south Minneapolis street.

Prosecutors allege the crew worked together for nearly a year, committing dozens of break-ins and thefts with a central hub in Saint Paul and a clear leader assigning roles.
