The case began after deputies found an elderly woman injured inside an unlivable home in Linwood Township last month, along with several malnourished animals.

Emergency crews were dispatched at 10:56 a.m. to the 6600 block of East River Road after reports of a crash involving an SUV and a sedan traveling southbound.

The victims were reported missing under similar circumstances. Investigators later discovered their dismembered remains in separate storage facilities in Woodbury and Coon Rapids.

Authorities have charged a Coon Rapids man with multiple felonies following a stabbing earlier this month.

Officials say the pedestrian was struck by a driver who did not stop. The victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
