Teen Shot in Maple Grove, Another Wounded in Brooklyn Park
Two separate shootings in Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park left teenage males hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries Sunday afternoon.
In Maple Grove, officers responded just after 4 p.m. on June 8 to a report of a shooting at a residence on the 12300 block of 94th Avenue.
A 16-year-old male was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to his leg and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
According to initial EMS radio dispatches reviewed by MN CRIME the victim had a “through-and-through” gunshot wound to his upper-right thigh and was vitally stable while being transported to the hospital around 4:25 p.m.

Multiple juveniles were located “at or near” the home where the shooting took place and were interviewed by police, the Maple Grove Police Department said in a written statement. The department says there’s no known ongoing threat to the public. No arrests have been announced in relation and the circumstances of the shooting still under investigation.
Roughly 10 minutes later in Brooklyn Park, officers were dispatched at 4:11 p.m. to the 5600 block of 96th Avenue North after someone dropped off a male with a gunshot wound. EMS radio dispatches said the victim is an 18-year-old male who had a through-and-through gunshot wound to the calf. He was also vitally stable and taken to the hospital with injuries police described as non-life-threatening.
Investigators later identified a second crime scene connected to the shooting, at a residential area in the 9100 block of Woodhall Crossing. Brooklyn Park Police say the case remains under investigation.
No additional details about suspects or possible arrests have been released. There was no publicly available evidence as of publication to confirm a possible connection between the shootings.
