Teen Shot in Leg After Reported Home Invasion in Shoreview

A teenager was shot early Sunday after two men reportedly forced their way into a Shoreview home.

According to the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 1:15 a.m. Sunday to the residence.

Deputies arrived on the 5000 block of Birch Trail where they found a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Authorities said the injury was not life-threatening.

The teen told deputies that two suspects forced their way into the residence, shot him and then fled the scene. Investigators worked to locate the suspects and later found them in the 200 block of Dayton Avenue in Saint Paul.

The two suspects, described as adult males ages 22 and 36, were taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies. Both were booked into the Ramsey County jail, where they remain in custody pending formal charges.

Authorities have not released additional details about what led up to the shooting or whether the victim knew the suspects. The investigation remains ongoing.
