Teen on Dirt Bike Dies After Collision with Pickup in Coon Rapids

A 15-year-old boy from Ramsey died Sunday after being struck by a pickup while riding a dirt bike in Coon Rapids, according to police.

Authorities say the crash happened around 4:40 p.m. on Sept. 7, near the 3300 block of Northdale Boulevard Northwest.

Authorities say Isaiah Lewis Whitlock was riding on the southern sidewalk, heading northwest, when he swerved onto the roadway at the Marigold Street NW intersection. A short time later, he was struck by the driver of a pickup truck who was heading southeast.

The pickup driver was identified only as a 53-year-old man from Oak Grove.

Whitlock was pronounced dead at the scene and no other injuries were reported.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, Coon Rapids Police Department and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to investigate.
