Just before 4:15 a.m., officers were called to the 300 block of Edmund Avenue on a report of a shooting.

The suspect reportedly arrived in a rideshare vehicle before fleeing out the back door of the residence on foot, per initial law enforcement radio dispatches. He was described as a Black male in his early 20s, about six feet tall, with dreads, a heavier build and wearing a black top, the dispatches said. Officers set a perimeter, used a canine team for a track and requested a drone to search the area, but no arrests have been made.

Detectives spoke with witnesses at the scene as crime scene investigators documented evidence. The motive remains under investigation. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to confirm the victim’s identity and cause of death.
