Road Buckle Causes Serious Motorcycle Crash In Cambridge

A woman was critically injured and a man also hurt after their motorcycle hit a road buckle on Highway 65 in Cambridge late Saturday afternoon.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 5:35 p.m. to the southbound lanes of Highway 65 near Highway 95.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2006 Harley Davidson Cruiser was heading south when it struck a buckled portion of pavement, causing the riders to crash.

The driver, 65-year-old James Patrick Marron of Saint Francis, was taken to Cambridge Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. His passenger, 66-year-old Rene Lynn Marron, also of Saint Francis, suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center.

According to authorities, neither person was wearing a helmet. Alcohol was not involved, and road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
