Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Semi in Dakota County

 

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a semi-truck Tuesday evening in Empire, according to early information from Dakota County authorities.

The crash occurred on County Road 66 near Biscayne Avenue, in the City of Empire.

A semi-truck reportedly hit the pedestrian at the scene. The person was pronounced dead, but no further details have been released as of Tuesday night. Authorities said more information may be available by Wednesday morning.

The circumstances of the crash, including the direction of travel and whether the pedestrian was in the roadway, have not yet been disclosed. It's also unclear whether the driver remained on scene or if any impairment is suspected.
