Pedestrian Hit, Killed Near Busy Edina Intersection

 

A 53-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a driver Friday night in Edina.

Police were called just after 7:15 p.m. to the intersection of Morningside Road and France Avenue on a report of a crash.

Responding officers found the man critically injured and he was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. His name has not yet been released, pending family notification.

Investigators closed France Avenue between 44th Street and Glendale Terrace for about an hour while the Crash Reconstruction Team examined the scene. The roadway reopened around 8:30 p.m.

Authorities have not said what led to the crash and investigation remains ongoing.
