Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Deer in Chisago County
A 71-year-old man died after striking a deer while riding a motorcycle early Sunday in Chisago County.
The crash happened around 12:44 a.m. on Highway 95 near Pleasant Valley Road in Franconia Township, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Investigators said the man was traveling north on a 2019 Harley-Davidson Road King when he hit a deer and laid the motorcycle down in the northbound lanes.
The rider, identified as Bruce Roy Fillmore, of Shafer, was pronounced dead at Hennepin County Medical Center. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Troopers said alcohol was not a factor and road conditions were dry. The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office, Lakes Area Police Department and Shafer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
