Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Richfield Crash With Turning SUV

A man suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash late Wednesday after a motorcycle and SUV collided at a Richfield intersection.

Officers responded at 11:02 p.m. to 66th Street West and Russell Avenue South, where an eastbound SUV turning north onto Russell struck a westbound motorcycle in the intersection.

According to initial evidence at the scene, the SUV struck the motorcycle while making the turn.

The motorcyclist, who was riding alone, sustained critical injuries. Officers noted signs that alcohol and speed may have contributed to the crash but did not specify which driver was suspected of impairment or speeding.

The incident remains under investigation.
