Man Found With Head Wound After Shooting in Saint Paul

A man was taken to the hospital late Wednesday morning after being shot near Maryland Avenue and Payne Avenue, Saint Paul police say.
Officers were called shortly before 11 a.m. on reports of gunfire in the area, and the man was later found near Case Avenue and Edgerton Street with a wound to his head.

Saint Paul Fire medics brought him to Regions Hospital, where his injury was described as non-life-threatening as of publication.
Initial info indicated the shooting happened at Maryland and Payne before the victim was found several blocks away. Investigators began working at both locations to sort out what led to the gunfire and who may have been involved.

Police said they are still gathering details and have not released any suspect information. Authorities have not announced any arrests and have not released the name of the victim. Call 911 with any information.
