Golden Valley Police Investigating Early Morning Crash

Golden Valley police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that happened early Monday morning.

Officers were dispatched just before 2:45 a.m. to Glenwood Avenue and Meander Road after reports that a driver had struck both a fire hydrant and a tree.

According to police, they located two people inside the vehicle. Both were taken to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. According to radio traffic, a 23-year-old female was found unresponsive and may have suffered an overdose. She was reported to be in critical condition, though not as a result of the crash.

The Golden Valley Police Department is leading the investigation. Authorities have not released details about what caused the crash or whether any contributing factors such as impairment or speed were involved.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, and police from Plymouth and Saint Louis Park also responded to assist at the scene. Authorities said the case remains active and no further information is available.
