Police say officers arrived and found two drivers involved in a crash on the bridge. Initial information indicates the driver of a white GMC Denali was traveling northbound while the driver of a maroon Ford Taurus was headed southbound.
A police department spokesperson said the Taurus driver crossed the center line into the northbound lanes, striking the Denali.

Three people inside the Denali were evaluated by paramedics at the scene and did not report injuries. All three told responders they were wearing seat belts.
The driver of the Taurus, who was the lone occupant of that vehicle, died at the scene.
Minneapolis traffic investigators responded to examine the crash and determine what led up to it, including whether impairment played a role.
