Brooklyn Park Police Arrest Man After Apartment Assault

Police are investigating an assault that left a woman seriously injured early Tuesday at a Brooklyn Park apartment complex.

Officers were called around 12:26 a.m. Jan. 27 to a report of an assault at the Autumn Ridge Apartments in the 6300 block of Boone Avenue North.

When officers arrived, they found a woman with severe injuries from an assault. She was transported by ambulance to an area hospital and an update on her condition was not available as of publication.

Investigators determined the assault occurred inside an apartment within the complex. Officers attempted to make contact with the people inside that apartment but were unsuccessful.

A search warrant was obtained and officers made entry into the apartment. Inside, they safely detained an adult male and an adult female. The man was arrested on a third-degree assault charge in connection with the incident and has not yet been formally identified.

Brooklyn Park police detectives continue to investigate the incident with assistance from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation unit. The department did not immediately detail the nature of the woman’s injuries.
