Shortly after the incident, a 46-year-old man arrived at the White Bear Lake Police Department and turned himself in, authorities have confirmed to MN CRIME. He was taken into custody and reportedly submitted to a preliminary breath test, which registered a .14 blood alcohol concentration, nearly twice the legal limit for driving in Minnesota.

A Minnesota State Patrol crash reconstruction team responded to assist with the investigation and the roadway remained closed for several hours as evidence was collected and mapped. The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the woman’s age as 72 and stated that she died at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released.
