42-year-old Driver Killed in Sherburne County Crash

A man died Thursday after the vehicle he was driving left the road and rolled southeast of St. Cloud.

Deputies identified the driver as 42-year-old Scott S. Kampa.

According to the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened in the 8600 block of 17th Street Southeast.

A man who lives in the area returned home from work to find his mailbox destroyed along the roadway and discovered Kampa deceased in the ditch nearby.

Investigators say Kampa’s vehicle left the road, struck the mailbox, and rolled before coming to rest in a wooded area. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released further details about what may have caused the crash.
