A Saint Cloud man threatened to kill a woman in an alley while holding a small blade as children were near her, shortly after threatening to kill a man inside a home, according to the complaint.

Christopher Steven Kenne, 35, is charged in Stearns County District Court with two felony counts of threats of violence.

According to the complaint, police were sent to a fight in an alley at about 1:59 p.m. Nov. 1. A woman told officers Kenne approached her as she walked through the alley, threatened to kill her and kept getting in her face while holding a small blade with a wooden handle. Witnesses said Kenne swung at her first. She told officers she hit him in self-defense and to protect the children who were near her.

A man told officers that shortly before the fight Kenne had threatened him inside the home where he lived, the complaint says. He said he locked himself in his bedroom while Kenne pounded on the door, yelled and threatened to kill him. He also heard Kenne threaten to slit or cut his throat.

Another man who was there gave police a matching account. Both men said they watched the fight and saw Kenne confront the woman and swing at her first.
