Officers found more than 30 grams of methamphetamine, three loaded pistols and more than $7,500 in cash in a Burnsville man’s car after a traffic stop in Bloomington, according to charges.
Ryan Philip Olejar, who was 40 at the time of the alleged offense, faces five charges: second-degree drug possession, three counts of carrying a pistol without a permit and driving while under the influence of a controlled substance.
According to the complaint, an officer on patrol at about 8:30 p.m. on August 12, 2026, saw Olejar alone in a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo parked at the Bloomington Walmart. The officer noted Olejar appeared animated, flailing his arms, talking to himself and at times yelling. Olejar drank from a plastic bottle, then got back in his car and drove away.

The officer followed and saw Olejar stop abruptly at an intersection, with his car’s front tires in the crosswalk as two people on bikes waited. Olejar then drove through the intersection without yielding. The officer conducted a traffic stop and observed that Olejar was sweating profusely and gave answers unrelated to the officer’s questions. Olejar spoke about not sleeping well, paranoia and concerns about people stealing his belongings.
The complaint says a records check showed Olejar had been stopped in June 2026 and found with narcotics. When asked, Olejar admitted he had used methamphetamine about 30 hours earlier. Officers administered field sobriety tests, which Olejar was unable to complete. He was arrested and taken to the hospital for a blood draw, with results pending.
Officers searched Olejar’s vehicle and found a loaded Luger pistol in the center console, a backpack containing suspected methamphetamine, a large amount of cash on the passenger seat and jeans with a container of suspected methamphetamine in the pocket.
They also found a magnetic container with suspected methamphetamine, a shoebox in the trunk with three baggies of suspected methamphetamine, another backpack in the trunk with two loaded Glock pistols and extra magazines, a prescription bottle with assorted pills and 23 sublingual tabs of Suboxone.
The suspected methamphetamine was weighed and totaled 30.9 grams. Olejar does not have a permit to carry a firearm. In a post-Miranda statement, Olejar admitted to using and possessing methamphetamine and said the firearms in the car were his. He claimed the cash was from side jobs, not drug sales.
The charges were filed September 23, 2026, in Hennepin County District Court.
