One person and four family pets are believed to have died in a mobile home fire in rural Wadena County early Monday. The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting the fire at about 5 a.m. in section 28 of North Germany Township.
Deputies and fire department personnel arrived to find the mobile home completely engulfed in flames and collapsed.
One adult and four family pets are believed to have died. The deceased was sent to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for formal identification. No names have been released while the incident is investigated.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Sebeka and Verndale fire departments, Astera Health Emergency Medical Services, Karvonen Funeral Home and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office said more information will be released as the investigation allows.
