Three men were wounded in crossfire when two suspects exchanged gunfire outside a Columbia Heights building early Saturday, police say, with one person taken into custody so far.
Officers from several agencies were called around 12:50 a.m. on September 5 to the 3800 block of Central Avenue Northeast after reports of a person firing a gun in a parking lot, according to the Columbia Heights Police Department. Initial information shows two men exchanged gunfire outside the building.

Three men who were in the parking lot were hit in the crossfire and were taken to hospitals in private vehicles, police said. Their injuries are not life-threatening.
One man has been taken into custody, though formal charges have not been filed, police said. Investigators are still working to identify the second shooter. The shooting does not appear to be random.
