The stolen bronze statue of Olympic gymnast Suni Lee was found inside a Saint Paul home early Friday after officers responded to a report of shots fired, police say.
Saint Paul police were called shortly after 12:30 a.m. to a home on the 900 block of Forest Street for reports of shots fired, according to the Saint Paul Police Department. Officers found spent rifle casings outside the multi-unit home, made several announcements, and several people came out.
A protective sweep of the home found no victims and no one else inside, and no injuries were reported.
Officers got a search warrant and recovered several firearms and ammunition from inside the home, police said. They also found the bronze statue of Lee, still intact. The statue had been reported stolen from Phalen Regional Park.

One man was arrested and taken to the Ramsey County Jail on suspicion of felony receiving stolen property in connection with the statue, police said. No arrests have been made yet in relation to the shots being fired.
The city unveiled the statue to honor Lee, a Saint Paul native and Olympic gold medalist, police said. It was stolen last year.
“I am happy to report that the statue of Suni Lee has been recovered thanks to our officers’ diligent response to what began as a shots fired call,” Saint Paul Police Chief Axel Henry said.
A department spokesperson said plans are underway to reinstall the statue at Phalen Regional Park.
