Hopkins police and multiple agencies responded to a domestic situation at an in-home daycare on the 200 block of Tyler Avenue North shortly after 9 a.m. Inside, they found a deceased male, a deceased female victim and a deceased juvenile victim.
Hopkins Police Chief Brent Johnson says the incident is isolated and there are no threats to the community. There were seven children inside the daycare at the time, including the one juvenile found deceased.
The ages and identities of those involved have not yet been released, though Johnson said the children inside the home were “very young.” Authorities have also not yet disclosed the nature of the injuries or what type of weapon was used.

Johnson said the male who was found deceased is believed to be “the perpetrator,” and the deceased juvenile is related to both the male and female who were found dead.
“This is a horrific, tragic situation for any community, especially in Hopkins where we don’t see this type of crime,” Johnson said.
Johnson said the male and female are believed to be the owners of the daycare.
The other children inside were removed from the home safely, reunited with their parents and there were no other injuries reported. More information is expected as the investigation develops.
