A Barnesville woman is facing felony assault charges after she allegedly swung a kitchen knife at her boyfriend twice during an argument at their apartment, telling him she'd stabbed someone before and would do it again.
Hannah Desamille Blankenship, 36, faces charges of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor domestic assault in Clay County. The charges were filed March 30.
According to a criminal complaint, officers responded to a domestic assault at an apartment in Barnesville around 1:55 p.m. Sunday. The victim told officers he and Blankenship had been arguing the night before, when she allegedly told him he "better sleep with one eye open."

The next morning, the victim went into the bathroom to tell Blankenship to stop using all the hot water. She swung a knife at him and told him not to open the door. Later, the victim went into the bedroom to retrieve clothing. Blankenship told him not to come into the room and allegedly swung the knife at him a second time.
During the confrontation, Blankenship told the victim she had "stabbed one person before and I'll do it again," according to the complaint. Officers recovered a kitchen knife from inside a laundry basket in the apartment, the court documents say.

Blankenship has a history of similar behavior. She's currently awaiting sentencing in a separate Clay County case in which she allegedly assaulted a different man with a knife following an argument. In that case, she reportedly dragged a folding knife across her own throat before approaching the victim with the knife raised over her head. She pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in that case.
Blankenship also has a pending case in Clay County for fifth-degree drug possession and violation of a domestic abuse no-contact order. On the assault charges, a court data has not yet been scheduled.
