Officers made contact with both men, who were conscious and breathing. They were admitted for treatment of what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.

It was determined that the original incident took place at Central Avenue West and Avon Street. Officers secured the scene and spoke with witnesses, with preliminary information indicating that a group of people were having a party before the shots rang out. More than 30 spent casings were collected at the scene, SPPD confirmed.

A Minnesota State Patrol helicopter assisted with an aerial search as officers worked the area. Witnesses reported hearing shots fired from two different firearms.

Due to the number of people arriving in connection with the shooting, Regions Hospital was placed on lockdown as a precaution. That lockdown has since been lifted with no incidents reported.

As of publication, no arrests have been made and the investigation remains active.

A third male arrived at Regions a short time before the other two gunshot victims, though police determined that incident took place on the 800 block of Euclid Street around 11:30 p.m. and was unrelated. His injuries were also reported as non-life-threatening.
