Just before 8 p.m. on May 11, Mounds View officers were dispatched to the 5200 block of Greenwood Drive after a 911 caller requested officers check on two people at the residence. Given the apparent trauma and lack of response from the man, officers forced entry into the home to check for additional victims. Inside, they discovered another person deceased.
Officers secured the scene and requested assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to process the residence and collect evidence. A handgun was recovered inside the home and investigators later confirmed that both victims sustained gunshot wounds.
