Officers responded just before 6:50 a.m. and arrived to find the victim lying near the driveway, bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Witnesses told officers a fight broke out between a group of young men, including the victim and the defendant, and escalated quickly into gunfire. Police say Sanchez Garzon fled the scene with two other people before officers arrived.

According to the criminal complaint, a surveillance camera mounted on the home captured the shooting. The video reportedly shows one of the defendant’s associates punching the victim while he was seated in a chair. A larger fight then broke out, during which Sanchez Garzon was seen joining in, punching several people before walking away. Seconds later, he returned, pulled a handgun from a cross-body bag, and fired about three shots toward the victim. After a brief pause, he took a step back and fired another five rounds, striking the victim several times.
