Woman Found Shot to Death Inside Saint Paul Apartment

A woman was found dead inside a Saint Paul apartment Friday afternoon, and police say evidence indicates she was shot a day earlier.
Just before 4:15 p.m. on Dec. 12, Saint Paul police were called to an apartment building on the 500 block of Broadway Street after a report that a woman had been shot.

When police entered the unit, they found the woman dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
According to initial radio dispatches, a 911 caller reported that “the dad shot the mom” and fled, possibly to Michigan, though there is no suspect information yet confirmed by authorities.
According to police, preliminary evidence suggests the shooting occurred on Thursday, Dec. 11. A firearm was located inside the apartment and recovered as part of the investigation.

An active search is underway for the suspect. Authorities have not released any suspect description or identified anyone in custody.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to confirm the woman’s identity and determine the exact cause of death. Police said updates will be released as additional information becomes available.
The case marks the 14th homicide of 2025 in Saint Paul.
