Initial information indicates that a passenger car was eastbound on County Road 7 when the driver crossed over Highway 61 and left the roadway, landing in a ditch along the northbound lanes.
The driver of that car, identified as Lois Irene Davis, of Winona, reportedly exited the vehicle and attempted to walk west across the highway. As she entered the left southbound lane, she was hit by a driver who had the right of way, the Patrol said. That driver, a 44-year-old man from Winona, stopped at the scene and was not injured.
