Officers performed CPR and rendered aid at the scene while working to secure the area. Investigators recovered hundreds of pieces of evidence, including shell casings. Authorities believe more than one shooter was involved but declined to share further details.

Preliminary information indicates the gunfire broke out during what may have been a barbecue or similar gathering at the park. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage, ballistic evidence, and hospital reports.

At of Monday morning, no arrests have been made. “My thoughts are with all those who are affected by this outrageous act of violence,” said Chief O’Hara. “The level of violence displayed in this shooting is absolutely sickening, and our investigators will work diligently to bring whoever is responsible to justice. We ask anyone who may know what happened to please provide any information they may have.”

Law enforcement described the scene as resembling a “war zone” due to the volume of gunfire. Multiple calibers of ammunition were recovered, and officials are working to determine how many guns were involved and what led to the violence.

O’Hara said Minneapolis police assisted with crowd control at Hennepin Healthcare after a large group arrived following the shooting. No arrests were made and police have confirmed all victims are adults. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
